  • Do I have to be an artist to apply?
    No. However, artists that are certified under the New Rochelle zoning code recieve preference in the housing lottery.
  • What is considered an artist, and is there an official designation?
    As defined by the City of New Rochelle zoning code, an Artist is: An individual who practices one of the fine, design, graphic, musical, culinary, literary, technological or performing arts; or an individual whose profession relies on the application of the above-mentioned skills to produce a unique creative product; e.g. an architect, craftsperson, chef, photographer, teacher of art/music/dance, or other qualified individual, as certified by the Municipal Art Commission. You do not need to make your living as an artist in order to become artist certified. In order to be considered for artist certification, applicants need to present the following along with their application: • Artist Resume • (3) Letters of Recommendation (reflecting artistic skills/talent/work) • 3-5 representative examples of artwork ​
  • Do I have to be a designated artists before I view a unit?
    No. The leasing team at The Atelier can assist you in the application process once you have visited and decided to move forward.
  • How do I make an appointment to view a unit?
    Please fill out our inquiry form to make an appointment.
  • Will I be guaranteed an apartment?
    No, as this is a lottery process.
  • How long does the application process take?
    Approximately 30 to 45 days from the time of application submission.
  • How do I add a new question & answer?
    To add a new FAQ follow these steps: 1. Manage FAQs from your site dashboard or in the Editor 2. Add a new question & answer 3. Assign your FAQ to a category 4. Save and publish. You can always come back and edit your FAQs.
  • Can I insert an image, video, or GIF in my FAQ?
    Yes. To add media follow these steps: 1. Manage FAQs from your site dashboard or in the Editor 2. Create a new FAQ or edit an existing one 3. From the answer text box click on the video, image or GIF icon 4. Add media from your library and save.
  • How do I edit or remove the 'Frequently Asked Questions' title?
    You can edit the title from the FAQ 'Settings' tab in the Editor. To remove the title from your mobile app go to the 'Site & App' tab in your Owner's app and customize.
